Graphic Design Worlds

Graphic Design Worlds
Triennale Design Museum presents Graphic Design Worlds, a big exhibition totally devoted to international graphic design, curated by Giorgio Camuffo.

Graphic Design Worlds will provide the general public with a look at this phenomenon: not so much an exhibition of “graphics”, but rather “on graphic design”, focusing on the multifarious interpretations of this discipline and practice, on the various routes to graphic design and the paths that branch off from it, into the world. This exhibition is particularly significant in a country like Italy, where the culture of design has expressed,
and still does, valuable stories, and where interesting voices, able to dialogue with the international scene, are now developing.

Over thirty graphic designers will show their worlds and present their approaches to the
world, exemplifying a variety of possible routes, languages, attitudes.

Featured in the exhibition will be: Åbäke, Brave New Alps, Anthony Burrill, Nazareno Crea, De Designpolitie, Dexter Sinister, Elliott Earls, Daniel Eatock, Experimental Jetset, FF3300, Fuel, Tommaso Garner, Mieke Gerritzen, Invernomuto, Christophe Jacquet (Toffe), Julia, KesselsKramer, Kasia Korczak, Zak Kyes, Harmen Liemburg, Lupo&Burtscher / Lungomare, Geoff McFetridge, Metahaven, Joseph Miceli, M/M (Paris), Na Kim, Norm, Radim Pesko, Mathias Schweizer, Studio Temp, Tankboys, Thonik, Francesco Valtolina.
The voice of the critic Max Bruinsma and of the historian Emily King will also be on show, in collaboration respectively with Thonik and M/M (Paris).

The exhibition is accompanied by the publication of the book Graphic Design Worlds, edited by Giorgio Camuffo and Maddalena Dalla Mura, published by Electa. The book – available in the Italian and the English edition – presents interviews made with the designers invited for the exhibition, as well as essays and interviews with figures who are variously contributing to advance the critical discourse on graphic design.
Among the authors and interviewees, along with the designer on show: Giovanni Anceschi, Andrew Blauvelt, Max Bruinsma, Charlotte Cheetham (Manystuff), Benedetta Crippa, Steven Heller, Emily King, Mario Lupano, Ellen Lupton, Sergio Polano, Silvia Sfligiotti, Alice Twemlow, Carlo Vinti.
