Bedford Press: On-Site exhibition

On-Site
Bedford Press exhibition

For On-Site, Bedford Press will continue with its current production schedule of publications and AA School printed matter, relocating from its Morwell Street home to the Front Members’ Room. This public printing workshop will reveal to visitors and the School community the processes involved in producing this varied material.
Bedford Press was initiated by the Architectural Association in 2008 as a publishing imprint that seeks to develop contemporary models of publication practice. Now established as an imprint of AA Publications Ltd, Bedford Press is a private press with the dual purpose of establishing an on-site facility for the production of printed matter for the AA School and to create a new typology of publications that extends beyond the Architectural Association’s existing programme. This initiative builds upon the AA’s renowned legacy of independent publishing, and aims to establish a more responsive small-scale model, nimble enough to encompass the entire chain of production in a single fluid activity, from initial commission to the final printing.
