Grégoire Romanet: graphisme dans le temps et l’espace

A l’occasion de l’exposition CONNEXIONS CONEXÕES, Grégoire Romanet, présente aux étudiants de Carlos Perrone (architecte et designer graphique), à la FAAP, son travail et sa démarche.
Grégoire Romanet développe une pratique élargissant les champs d’intervention du design graphique, notamment dans le rapport entre la scénographique et le graphisme.
A travers la présentation de ses différents travaux, il explique aux étudiants comment il construit chaque objet (narration, outil…), comment le fond et la forme s’imprègnent l’un et l’autre et comuniquent en même temps, l’importance du temps dans le process …
Il évoque également la commande: le dépassement de celle-ci, y compris pour les projets au budget faible; également la notion de confiance avec le client qui se retrouve lui aussi, avec le graphiste, dans une position inconfortable jusqu’au bout du projet qui reste ouvert jusqu’à la finalisation.
Enfin, l’importance des matériaux, le rapport entre le concept et l’artisan.
Grégoire Romanet, avec ses “objets multiples”, propose un graphisme moins palpable au premier degré, une démarche qui s’intéresse au rapport sensible aux choses, à la dimension et à la valeur du temps.

Gregoire Romanet: graphics in time and space

On the occasion of CONNEXIONS CONEXÕES exhibition, Gregoire Romanet, presents to Carlos Perrone (architect and graphic designer) students, at the FAAP, his work approach.
Gregoire Romanet develops a practice widening the fields of intervention of the graphic design, in particular in the relationship between scenography and graphic deisgn.
Through the presentation of its various work, he explains to the students how he builds each object (narration, tools…), how the substance and the form impregnate each other and communicate at the same time, importance of time in the process…
It also evokes the commission: the going beyond this one, also for weak budget projects; also the concept of confidence with the client who also finds itself, with the graphic designer, in an uncomfortable position until the end of the project which remains open until the finalization.
Lastly, importance of materials, the relationship between the concept and the “artisan”.
Gregoire Romanet, with his “multiple objects”, proposes a less palpable graphic design at the first degree, an approach which is interested in the sensitive relation to the things, the dimension and the value of time.
