présentent leur travail par une intervention axée sur la typographie et le design éditorial.

Fanette Mellier & the brazilian translator

Fanette Mellier expose notamment au public son travail sur la matrice typographique: des poèmes dans la rue pour la ville de Fontenay-sous-bois (Fontenew) ou pour le projet CIRCUS, également l’exposition sur le philosophe Jean Jacques Rousseau Je ne suis pas a vendre, ces projets sont pour elle un moyen de détourner le statut de l’affiche qui devient un véritable outil typographique.
Autre sujet de recherche, la lisibilité: la typographie du projet Circus par exemple, composée d’adhésifs en couleur sur une matrice en filet, abstraite de près, visible de loin; la police de caractère élaborée pour le Centre d’art du Parc Saint Léger, construite à partir de modules rudimentaires, gagne en lisibilité lorsque les caractères sont mis côte à côte pour former un mot, isolés ils restent abstraits.
Le détail intimement lié à au contenu des ouvrages: à l’image de son récit (une fiction moyennageuse) et de son style (ancien français envolé), Bastard Battle est un livre de poche qui présente des mutations formelles de caractères et de couleurs qui se délitent. Pour le Travail de rivière, récit autour d’une ganterie, le livre se couvre logiquement de peau, des traces de mains sur le texte sont marquées par un léger reflet.
La couleur enfin, permet dans son travail sur Rousseau de hiérarchiser l’information, pour une carte blanche proposée par la maison d’édition Corraini elle est le sujet principal – relation lettre / couleur – ; elle permet une variation typographique infinie pour la typographie du Parc Saint Léger.

Pierre Perronet présente son travail, en collaboration avec la graphiste néerlandaise Wijntje van Rooijen, essentiellement dans le domaine de l’édition, principalement pour pour des commenditaires culturels : catalogues d’exposition pour le musée d’Orsay, la BNF, le Festival international de l’Affiche et du Graphisme de Chaumont, l’institut néerlandais de Paris… Typographie, mise en page et choix des materiaux, chaque projet est un objet d’art: le livre publié par la BNF sur Jean Paul Sartre reprend la typographie vernaculaire des enseignes des café de St Germain a Paris fréquentés par l’écrivain, la brochure graphisme en France conçue a partir d’une trame de pixels constituant la grille typographique de la brochure…

Connexions>Conexoes is the occasion for Fanette Mellier and Pierre Perronet to present their work by an intervention centered on the typography and the editorial graphic design.

Fanette Mellier presents in particular to the public her work on the typographical matrix: poems in the street for the town of Fontenay-sous-bois (Fontenew) or for her project CIRCUS, also the exhibition about Jean-Jacques Rousseau, these projects are for it a means of diverting the statute of the poster which becomes a genuine typographical tool.
Another subject of research, the legibility: the typography of the Circus project for example, made up of adhesives color on a matrix in net, abstracted closely, visible by far; the Center of art Saint Leger typography, built with rudimentary modules, gains of legibility when characters are put side by side to form a word, isolated they remain abstract.
The detail closely related on to the contents of the books: as the story (a medieval fiction) and its style (original old french), Bastard Battle is a book of pocket which presents formal changes of typography and colors which are surbedded. For the Travail de rivière, text about a glove factory, the book islogically covered by skin, traces of hands on the text are marked by a light reflection.
The color finally, makes it possible in its work on Rousseau to treat on a hierarchical basis information, in the project book invitation of the Corraini publishing house it is the principal subject – relation letter/color -; it allows an infinite typographical variation for the typography of the Parc Saint Leger.

Pierre Perronet presents his work, in collaboration with the graphic designer Wijntje van Rooijen, primarily in the field of the edition, mainly for cultural projects: catalogs of exhibitions for the Orsay museum, the BNF, the International festival of Graphic design of Chaumont, the Dutch institute of Paris… Print, page layout and choice of materials, each project is an art object: the book published by the BNF on Jean Paul Sartre uses the vernacular typography of the pubs signs in Saint Germain in Paris loved by the writer, the booklet graphics in France designed from a screen of pixels constituting the typographical grid of the booklet…
