Slavs and Tatars Talk

Slavs and Tatars Talk,

part of a series of talks and events for the current exhibition Again, A Time Machine,
about the use and influence of books and printed material in their practice, with a particular focus on the archive of Iranian and Polish books displayed on traditional Persian riverbeds for their installation ‘Dear 1979, please meet 1989′ as part of ‘Again, A Time Machine’.
Slavs and Tatars are a faction of polemics and intimacies scattered throughout an area east of the former Berlin Wall and west of the Great Wall of China known as Eurasia. The collective’s work spans several media, disciplines, and a broad spectrum of cultural registers, focusing on an oft-forgotten sphere of influence between Slavs, Caucasians and Central Asians.
