Open Books – Hato press

Open Books publication was printed by Hato Press.

Hato Press was established by Ken Kirton, Louise Naunton Morgan and Jackson Lam. We set up Hato Press as a platform to apply our design skills to a greater context. To collaborate with other designers, artists, illustrators, writers, scientists, etc. in offering them affordable printing and the ability to publish their own work.

“The money made from the press is put towards buying more equipment and facilities for Hato, or into books that we want to publish. We are quite selective in what we publish and sell on our book shelves, often the books are designed by ourselves with each of us working independently through our own studios.”

Upcoming projects include art magazine Art Licks, a publication with Patrick Coyle, AHA edition 2 and new pages to be added to FOUNT.
