THANKS FOR SHARING! catalogue

THANKS FOR SHARING! catalogue

What is an art zine? How does it differ from an editorial art magazine or a blog? And why do more and more artists internationally seem to be interested in this particular publishing format?
THANKS FOR SHARING! exhibition & symposium (May 2010) have invited artists, collectors, distributors and curators from all over Germany and Switzerland to discuss this rise of interest in zines, their popularity among contemporary artists, the revival of DIY-culture with its appealingly easy implementation of ideas and potentials for stylistic experimentation.
More than 300 issues from 24 different countries was shown.

The catalogue was designed by four students from the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig, Class for System Design (Prof. Oliver Klimpel): Sandy Hofmann, Ina Kwon, Franziska Leiste, Henrik Rossbander.
