Place It

July 25th, 2008

Place It
Thirteen story settings in Bolzano public space

This exhibition project invites graphic designers to reflect on context-related geopolitical and socio-cultural issues of the city of Bolzano through four graphic art interventions in the public space.
Place It makes use of instruments of visual communication and will transform vertical wall surfaces in the city into exhibition venues in order to creatively explore the history, present state and future prospects of Bolzano in the public space.
It also aims to draw attention to the relevance and the impact of visual communication in our contemporary culture, connects the socio-political relevance of graphic design with its fundamental functions, and at the same time experiments with its power to express and visualize themes relevant to the geopolitical and socio-cultural concerns of a city.
